Mamardashvili denies Price as Northern Ireland draw with Georgia
Northern Ireland remain top of Group B2 after a goalless draw, with their unbeaten start extending to four matches.

Northern Ireland remained top of their Nations League group after a 0-0 draw with Georgia at Windsor Park on Monday, with Giorgi Mamardashvili saving Isaac Price's late penalty. Press Association reported that the Liverpool goalkeeper stopped the 84th-minute spot-kick, leaving Michael O'Neill's side one point ahead of Hungary in Group B2.

Watch the highlights:

The penalty followed an incident involving Ruairi McConville during a scramble in the Georgia penalty area. Mamardashvili also denied Jamie Donley and Josh Magennis as the visitors secured a point. Northern Ireland were unable to turn those opportunities into a winning goal and recorded their second home stalemate of the international window.

Pierce Charles protected Northern Ireland's own goal with saves from Zuriko Davitashvili and Giorgi Tsitaishvili. According to Press Association, it was the team's fourth consecutive competitive clean sheet, a sequence they had not achieved since 2017. The 21-year-old goalkeeper has now kept seven clean sheets in nine competitive appearances.

The draw completed a four-match programme that began with Northern Ireland's 1-0 victory in Tbilisi. Irish FA records show that result was followed by a goalless home draw against Hungary and a 3-0 win over Ukraine in Slovakia. Those results, combined with Monday's point, leave O'Neill's team unbeaten with two wins and two draws, and eight points from their opening four games.

Georgia arrived in Belfast under different leadership from the first meeting. The Irish FA's pre-match account confirmed that Ramaz Svanadze had replaced Willy Sagnol after the defeat in Tbilisi. Svanadze moved into the senior role after five years leading Georgia's under-21 side. Before Monday's match, O'Neill had highlighted the new coach's familiarity with the squad through his work with the country's under-19 and under-21 teams.

Northern Ireland's remaining group fixtures are scheduled for November, according to the Irish FA. They will host Ukraine at Windsor Park on November 14 before travelling to face Hungary at the Puskas Arena on November 17. The association lists the Ukraine match for a 19:45 GMT kick-off, while the starting time for the Hungary fixture remains to be confirmed.
