Bournemouth beat Aston Villa 3-0 to book Liverpool cup quarter-final
Goals from Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Alvaro Rodriguez sent Bournemouth through to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, where they will visit Liverpool.

Bournemouth beat Aston Villa 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. Sky Sports reported that the result extended their winning run to five matches across all competitions and ended Villa's seven-game unbeaten sequence.

Watch the highlights:

Amine Adli gave the hosts the lead after seven minutes. Roundtable's match report described how Marcus Tavernier sent the ball towards Julio Soler, whose cross provided Adli with a close-range finish. Bournemouth threatened again when Ben Gannon-Doak worked space away from Tyrone Mings, but goalkeeper Marco Bizot turned his effort over the bar.

Villa had opportunities to respond before the interval. George Hemmings sent an attempt over, while Michele Di Gregorio saved from Brian Madjo. At the other end, Tavernier curled a chance wide after a delivery from Juanlu Sanchez. Those missed openings left the visitors only one goal behind heading into the second half, despite Bournemouth's early breakthrough.

The hosts increased their advantage in the 51st minute. Bizot had touched a Sanchez effort onto the crossbar, but the ensuing corner brought a goal. Lewis Cook exchanged passes with Gannon-Doak before sending in a cross that slipped past the goalkeeper at the near post. Substitute Tyler Adams later supplied Alvaro Rodriguez, who finished low in the 69th minute for 3-0. The result also gave Bournemouth a fifth consecutive match without conceding a goal.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Bournemouth manager Marco Rose praised his players' effort and readiness after making eight changes to his starting side. He pointed to competition within the squad and said the focus would turn to recovery and the next league challenge against Leeds.

Villa manager Unai Emery told Sky Sports his team had lacked the required intensity in the opening 20 minutes and had not converted their chances. He identified Bournemouth's second goal soon after the restart as another setback and the third as decisive. Bournemouth will visit Liverpool in the quarter-finals, with the tie scheduled for the week beginning December 14.
