Burrow accounts for six touchdowns as Bengals beat Titans 43-36 in overtime
Joe Burrow threw five touchdown passes and ran for the decisive score as the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tennessee Titans 43-36 in overtime at Paycor Stadium on Sunday. Cincinnati improved to 5-2 after surviving three interceptions, while Tennessee fell to 1-7 despite leading by a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Watch the highlights:
According to the Titans' official match report, Cam Ward found Wan'Dale Robinson for a 15-yard touchdown with 3:46 remaining to put Tennessee ahead 36-29. Burrow responded by connecting with Tee Higgins from 18 yards with 1:17 left, bringing Cincinnati level at 36 and sending the contest towards an extra period.
The Bengals reported that their opening overtime possession covered 70 yards in five plays. Burrow finished the drive himself with a nine-yard touchdown run. Tennessee then had an opportunity to respond, but Cincinnati's defense forced an incomplete pass on fourth-and-three to secure the victory after the teams had traded leads throughout the second half.
Tennessee had established an early 13-0 advantage, helped by a 40-yard touchdown run from Tony Pollard and two Joey Slye field goals. Its defense also produced repeated disruptions: Amani Hooker intercepted Burrow three times and Jacob Martin registered three sacks, according to the Titans. Those contributions still could not prevent Cincinnati from recovering and eventually winning.
Burrow finished with 462 passing yards, while Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase both exceeded 100 receiving yards. Cincinnati's official recap credited Higgins with 10 catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns, and Chase with 11 receptions for 141 yards and a score. Mike Gesicki and rookie tight end Jack Endries also caught touchdown passes for the Bengals.
Ward's 304 passing yards marked his first 300-yard game, the Titans reported. He completed 26 of 40 attempts with two touchdowns, while Pollard added 117 rushing yards and two scores. Tennessee now enters its bye week before hosting Jacksonville on November 15, still seeking a second victory after another game slipped away in the closing stages.
