Bromley FC achieved a remarkable milestone on Saturday as they secured promotion to League One for the first time in the club's 124-year history, completing a remarkable climb through the English football pyramid.

Watch the highlights:

The south London club, founded in 1892, had never previously reached the third tier of English football. Their promotion was confirmed after a 2-1 victory against local rivals, securing their place in next season's League One and bringing decades of dreaming to fruition.

Manager Andy Woodman, who took charge in 2019, has been instrumental in guiding Bromley through three promotions in seven years. "This club has waited over a century for this moment," Woodman said after the match. "Every player, every fan, every person associated with Bromley - this is for you. We've made history today, and I couldn't be prouder of this group of players."

Captain Danny Gurring added: "We've worked so hard for this. When I joined this club, people said we were too small to achieve things like this. But we've shown that with belief and hard work, anything is possible. The fans have been incredible all season, and to give them this is everything."

Bromley, who were playing in the National League just four seasons ago, have transformed into a club capable of competing at the third tier. The promotion ensures the club will receive increased funding and visibility, potentially allowing them to compete more sustainably in the future.

With this achievement, Bromley become only the fourth club to earn promotion to League One for the first time in the 21st century, joining the ranks of clubs like Salford City and their south London neighbors. The achievement marks one of the most remarkable stories in recent English football history, proving that clubs with limited resources can still achieve extraordinary things through unity and determination.

The club will now begin preparations for their first-ever season in League One, with season ticket renewals expected to surge as supporters eager to witness history at Hayes Lane next term.
