Jon Rahm leads Abu Dhabi Championship by one after bogey-free 66
Jon Rahm moved to 18 under at Yas Links, one shot ahead of Tyrrell Hatton and Francesco Laporta. Rory McIlroy finished the third round two strokes behind after a 67.

Jon Rahm took sole possession of the Abu Dhabi Championship lead on Saturday, shooting a bogey-free, six-under-par 66 at Yas Links to reach 18 under. According to BBC Sport's third-round report, the Spaniard moved one stroke ahead of Tyrrell Hatton and Francesco Laporta, with Rory McIlroy another shot back in fourth place after a round of 67.

Watch the highlights:

Rahm had begun the day sharing first place with Hatton and Laporta. Both of his playing partners returned 67s to finish at 17 under, leaving the three men still occupying the leading positions. They will be grouped together again for Sunday's final round, with Rahm seeking his first victory in the Abu Dhabi Championship.

Hatton briefly drew level with Rahm when he made his seventh birdie of the round at the 14th hole. Rahm answered on the next hole, holing a curling birdie putt from 20 feet to regain the outright lead. He also narrowly missed another birdie opportunity at the last, completing the round without dropping a shot.

McIlroy's eight birdies were offset by a double bogey at the par-four 10th and a bogey on the 17th. Those setbacks left him on 16 under rather than alongside the leader. His 67 followed a second-round 63 containing 11 birdies, as he continued his recovery from an opening-round penalty.

BBC Sport reported that McIlroy received that two-shot penalty for improving his lie before a chip shot. After the third round, he said he expected to need a score in the mid-to-low 60s to win. Hatton, meanwhile, said he hoped a strong start on Sunday would enable him to put Rahm under pressure.

Laporta kept himself in contention with a bogey-free round of his own. The Italian, who had taken the first-round lead by shooting 10 under, remains in pursuit of his first DP World Tour title. Behind the leading four, Australia's Adam Scott shot 66 to move into fifth at 15 under and remained bogey-free through all three rounds.

Matthew Jordan finished a stroke behind Scott at 14 under after a 69, alongside Spain's David Puig. The third-round results left five players within three shots of the lead, with Rahm holding the narrowest of advantages over his two playing partners.
